How do I deal with people I owe money to once I’m in an IVA?
Once your IVA [1] has been approved you may still receive letters and phone calls from your creditors [2].
A ‘Chairman’s Report’ outlining the outcome of the meeting of people you owe money to will be sent to all people you owe money to and you have told us about. This will confirm that your IVA has been approved.
Sometimes however, people you owe money to may take time to update their records and they may still try to contact you. If you receive telephone calls and letters from people you owe money to, advise them that your IVA has been agreed and that they should have received a copy of your Chairman’s Report. It may be necessary for you to send another copy to them.
